An Outline of Isshiki-cho（一色町の概要）

Isshiki Town is located on the mouths of the delta zone of the Yahagi River that flows gently in the southern part of Aichi Prefecture, and about 80% of the town is a plain,right at the sea level.
The Island of Sakushima that lies in Mikawa Bay is the biggest island with 11.5 kilometers in surroundings in Mikawa Bay Quasi National Park.
Cultural exchange facilities in the Benten Salon, the hiking trail, the seaside fishing center and guesthouses are maintained on Sakushima Island.
You can enjoy them in all year around.
In January 2009, Sakushima Island was selected as one of the Top 100 Japanese Best Sceneries.

　本町は、愛知県西三河の南を緩やかに流れる矢作川デルタ地帯の末端部開けた町で、町域の約80％が海抜ゼロメートルという平坦な地域です。三河湾に浮かぶ佐久島は、周囲11.5キロメートルの三河湾国定公園内で一番大きな島です。佐久島には、ハイキングロードや海水浴場、海釣りセンター、文化交流施設の弁天サロン、民宿などの施設が整備されており、四季を通じて楽しむことができます。佐久島は、2009年1月に「にほんの里100選」のひとつに選ばれています。


The well-known festival, “The Giant Lantern Festival” is held on 26- 27 August every year in Suwa Shrine.
It is also specified for the cultural property of the prefecture by the festival with a long history of hanging out 12 sets of huge lanterns for about 450 years.

　本町が誇る「大提灯まつり」は、毎年８月26日・27日に諏訪神社で行われ、12張の大提灯を掲げる約450年もの長い歴史を持つ由緒あるまつりで、県の文化財にも指定されています。


We are very proud of our special products of “Eel Farming” whose production is one of the tops in Japan since 1983, Carnations which is selected as the Town Flower, and eminent amount of production of “Ebi-Senbei", Shrimp-Flavored Crackers,using fresh shrimp taken from the coastal waters.
You can find them and enjoy shopping and eating our famous products at the Isshiki Sakana Hiroba Isshiki that has/sells our specialty including not only fresh, abundant fish and shellfish but also vegetables and so on.

　本町の産業は、昭和58年度以来、日本一の生産量を誇る「うなぎの養殖」をはじめ、町の花でもある「カーネーション」、近海等でとれたえびを使った「えびせんべい」などは全国でも有数の生産額を誇っています。また、新鮮で豊富な魚介類をはじめ、本町自慢の品々を集めたショッピング施設の「一色さかなセンター」があります。
